Pilgrim Pentecostal Curch of Christ

Romans 10:15
And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel

Pastor Myra Lynette Smith Jackson

Biography

Elder Myra L. Jackson is the Founding and Senior Pastor of Pilgrim Pentecostal Church of Christ (PPC) located in Stone Mountain, GA.  At PPC, Pastor Jackson leads a ministry where souls matter, purpose can unfold and people can be changed and empowered through Christ.

Born and raised as a “pew baby” in Cleveland, Ohio, everyone knew in her childhood that God had great plans for her life.  She had a heart to serve the Lord early on, which was evident when she asked the head of the Missionaries why she couldn’t join.  Her genuineness and persistence led to the creation of a Junior Missionaries department where she served as president.  By the age of 12, she was teaching the Junior Church Class.  Pastor Jackson was being developed even then to minister to people and teach them how to live holy.

Accepting the call to Ministry in January of 2002, Myra Jackson served in most areas of the church including Special Assistant to Pastor Diana Branch, Pilgrim Assemblies, coordinator of the music & arts ministry, sound ministry leader, youth leader & advisor, director of administration, Bible Study teacher in the absence of her Pastor just to mention a few.  The more that she dedicated herself, the more clear it became that God had anointed her with special giftings in the areas of leadership, teaching and impacting the lives of others.

As Pastor Jackson studied to show herself approved with Biblical training in servanthood, pastoral care, sacred ceremonies and homiletics, God continued to prepare her for the next calling on her life.  Always having a heart for the people, she found a passion for teaching.  Knowing that “If you can get people to grab hold, once they believe [God’s Word], they will produce.”  With God ordering her steps, that became her commitment.

In 2006, The Lord began speaking to Myra about beginning a ministry.  He led her back to her home church in Cleveland, Ohio for training, preparation and guidance and on November 2, 2008, Myra Jackson opened the doors to Pilgrim Pentecostal Church of Christ as a Licensed Pastor under the Pentecostal Churches of Christ Reformation. God gave the vision:  to meet the need, plant the seed, and provide fertile ground for growth and development.  On July 25, 2009, she was officially ordained Elder by the Presiding Prelate of the Pentecostal Churches of Christ, Inc. Bishop J. Delano Ellis, II.

Pastor Jackson uses a candid approach to address real challenges with real answers from the Lord. Whether in the role of Pastor, K-12 Administrator at BaSix Knowledge Academy or serving as a volunteer mentor with Pathbuilders, Inc. for women working towards career development, Pastor Jackson has always sought to be a holy woman after God’s heart who serves with integrity and truth.

Elder Myra Lynette Smith Jackson currently resides in Lithonia, Georgia while furthering her education at Beulah Heights University.  A mother of two, LaToya Renee Jackson and William Earl Jackson, II, and grandmother of three.

Minister of Music

WILLIAM E. JACKSON, II

William Jackson found his love for God and ministry at the age of 9 and was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 10.  William had an unusual sense of commitment to the things of God at an early age.  When little league baseball conflicted with his choir rehearsal, he gave up baseball.  When High School Football and Band appeared to conflict with his weekly church services, he gave up his desire for football and band.  Upon graduating from Faith Academy, he insisted on attending only one college “Georgia State” because he refused to leave his church.  William’s love and commitment for God was evident in his enthusiasm and his sincerity when serving in the House of God.

At the age of 12, the word of the Lord came to William through his Pastor Bishop Kent Branch saying that William had a ministry call on his life and would travel the country speaking to young people at an early age.  William received the word with “fear” and decided to see how far he could get away from his destiny.  However, God’s word would not go out and return void unto Him.  At the age of 15, He experienced a life-threatening event that almost cost him his life when a simple sinus infection spread to his brain.  After months in the hospital where he faced two brain surgeries, a stroke and paralysis on the left side of his body, William nearly gave up on life but instead decided to surrender control to God.  Reflecting on this event, which changed the course of his life William humbly says, “if you want to see a destiny unfold, let go.”  This place of brokenness is where God met him and the healing process began.  William Jackson was blessed with not only with a full recovery but a restored commitment to God.

Back on fire for God, William preached his first message – “Wake Up & Watch Out”.  As a Sunday School Teacher for the youth and children, He was known for “taking a walk through the bible”.  William has touched the lives of many young people and was given the honour of being the Keynote Speaker for the graduating class of BaSix Knowledge Academy.

If you were to describe William Jackson in words, Pastor Diana did it best when she said, “William is a young man with heart, determination and vision, but more importantly, he is a young man with undeniable destiny and purpose.”

William E. Jackson, II currently resides in Lithonia, Georgia and serves as Minister of Music at the Pilgrim Pentecostal Church of Christ where his mother, Myra L. Jackson is Senior Pastor.
